The most fun you can have with the top down! Chevrolet's Camaro Convertible gives you the best of both world's sports car performance with the fun of a drop top. While other muscle cars have tried and failed with convertibles the Camaro gets it right. General Motors engineers worked tirelessly to ensure the fifth generation Camaro would function well as a coupe or a convertible. Their efforts have resulted in one of the most stable convertible platforms available.
With iconic Camaro styling the convertible is almost a mirror of the coupe. Designers worked diligently to ensure the convertible matched the coupe’s presence. This resulted in the same body from the windows down with a sleek convertible top to match the roof line on the coupe.
Make no mistake-this car was meant to be driven with the top down.
Chevrolet engineered the convertible for precise ride dynamics. In addition to the Camaro’s stronger chassis the convertible has additional bracing for a more rigid feel. An aluminum strut tower brace, transmission support reinforcement brace, underbody tunnel brace and front and rear underbody V braces make up the added support. The extra support reduces torsional flex giving the Camaro Convertible the same stiffness as BMW 3 series convertible.
This is why Chevrolet refers to the Camaro Convertible as the “ultimate open-air driving experience”.

CMA sponsorship celebrates decades of music inspired by iconic brand
DETROIT – In its 100 years, Chevrolet has produced iconic vehicles – from the era-defining Bel Air to the timeless Corvette. Jay Z, Kid Rock, and Mariah Carey are just a few of the artists to name-drop Chevrolet in hit songs. But no genre has embraced the breadth and depth of Chevrolet’s pop culture standing like country music.
“Country music has always held a mirror to both the serious and the irreverent in our culture,” said Phil Caruso, Chevrolet national promotions manager. “When you consider how long Chevrolet’s been a cultural force, it’s not surprising that those who’ve depicted all aspects of American life through country music have been so influenced by the brand.”
The idea of a man on his guitar, singing about lost love and his Chevy, has become the archetype of a country song. Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley, George Strait and Tim McGraw have all paid musical tribute to Chevrolet. To some performers – like Lyle Lovett in “West Texas Highway” – their Chevrolet provided means for dramatic escape; to others – like Big & Rich in “Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)” – a hood on which to display a fierce set of horns.
But the special relationship between Chevrolet and country music isn’t limited to its male stars. Carrie Underwood made heartfelt reference to packing up her Chevy in “Don’t Forget to Remember Me.” In “One Bud Wiser,” Gretchen Wilson wasn’t happy with an ex who made off with her brand new Silverado. Both Trisha Yearwood and Taylor Swift fell for boys in Chevy trucks, while Shania Twain just wanted a lover with a ’55 Chevy in “You Win My Love.”
This well-documented affection for Chevrolet among country artists and their fans made Chevrolet a natural choice to sponsor the CMA Music Fest in Nashville, where artists including Phil Vassar, Gary Allan, Jo Dee Messina, Darryl Worley, and Colt Ford performed for fans from the Chevrolet Riverfront Stage.
For many of these artists, Chevy is a part of their life as well as their music. Phil Vassar “grew up in a Chevy family.” His dad drove a Malibu. Craig Morgan said Chevy has always been part of music, and “couldn’t even say how many country songs Chevy is in.” For Colt Ford, the attraction is even simpler: “Chevy is all-American. Even Colt Ford drives a Chevy!”
“Chevrolet is an iconic brand that has played – and continues to play – a significant role in popular culture and the lives of many Country Music artists and fans,” said Steve Moore, CMA chief executive officer. “And we see that influence in song lyrics from Country Music veterans to our up-and-coming stars.”

Some exciting Camaro ZL1 info comes from the Camaro homecoming being held this weekend at Oshawa. Al Oppenheiser, the Camaro's chief engineer has let known the following ZL1 info: - ZL1 will have HP numbers higher than the 550hp of the CTS-V
- ZL1 will receive an automatic transmission option
- ZL1 will feature the Corvette ZR1's performance traction management system
- ZL1 production will begin in the first quarter of 2012

H & H Chevy had the opportunity to take a couple vehicles to Physicians Mutual’s Earth Day. It was a great experience in talking with people who are all about eco-friendliness.
When we pulled in the parking lot there were some evil eyes cast upon us. We Brought a Silverado….I bet the first thought was “This is Earth Day….why would you bring a full sized vehicle here”. The Silverado commended much attention just because of its size. Interesting enough I had a guy tell me the 6.0L was to large of an engine to have in a Hybrid. He snubbed his nose at the idea of the Silverado Hybrid until I showed him the Drivers Information Center. The DIC showed the AVG MPG at 23.4 MPG. His comment was “wow that is better than my mini van”.
The Cruze was in a category by its self. It commended attention even more so than the all electric Smart Car. A common comment on the car was wow this is a really sharp looking car. Most people asked is this a Hybrid? Our answer was no, but its gets 42mpg on the hwy and some drivers are getting close to 50MPG. It was fun watching the reactions on peoples face.
The Cruze was on display next to Toyota Camry Hybrid. Granted it’s a little bit larger car…but it’s a Hybrid. The Cruze has better crash ratings and a better Hwy gas mileage rating. However the Camry did post a 31mpg city rating where the Cruze Eco was 28. The Camry had a price tag of over $10,000 more than the Cruze Eco. It is pretty obvious which has the better bang for you buck!
Overall out of the 8 cars that were on display, the Chevrolet Brand had the most interest and rightfully so. Some of the other sale people gathered around the Cruze and Silverado to do a little “Shop Talk” and quickly realized that we were bring far more to the table than their products(quietly admitted).
Today was another day that showed why it’s a pleasure to sell the Chevrolet Brand. In case some of you are wondering why it’s a pleasure to sell the Chevrolet Brand….Its plain and simple. Everyday we get to wake up knowing we get to sell some of the BEST CARS ON THE PLANET!!!!
